9K a year JOB SUMMARY The Emergency Room Tech provides direct and indirect care to patients under the direction of the Primary Nurse/Charge Nurse.
The Emergency room tech performs basic activities of daily living and assists licensed personnel to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, efficient, quality patient care.
EDUCATION High School Diploma or equivalent.
Applicants must have at least one year applicable experience or a graduate of a nursing assistant program, Medical Assistance program or EMT.
Nursing students that have completed at least half of their nursing program, or one year of applicable experience will qualify for the ER tech position.
LICENSURE Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program, Medical Assistant Program or EMT program.
A nursing student that has completed at least half of their nursing program, or one year of applicable experience will qualify for the ER tech position.
EXPERIENCE Applicants must have at least one year applicable experience or a graduate of a nursing assistant program, Medical Assistance program or EMT.
CERTIFICATION BLS (CPR) within 60 days of hire if not already a current provider must be American Heart Association sponsored class to include CPR and AED.
COMPUTER/TYPING/MATH SKILLS Must be or must become familiar with the hospital computer systems.
Must have minimal computer skills.
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Must possess good oral communication skills.
Must be able to communicate with all hospital contacts, both on the telephone and directly.
Must be able to read and write legibly in order to communicate patient needs and document in the patient record.
Healthcare provider BLS validation within 60 days of employment, with revalidation per AHA guidelines.
Must have the ability to solve practical problems.
Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in verbal, written, diagram or schedule form.
