We are an independent optometry practice in Dunbar, West Virginia, serving the greater Kanawha Valley.
We have recently moved into a larger location and are growing our staff to serve more patients.
Previous optometric experience is not required for this position; we can provide on-the-job training for technical skills.
A background in medical assisting, dental assisting, or a related medical field is well suited for this position.
DUTIES Perform screening and diagnostic testing Scribe in the exam room Assist with optical sales and dispensing tasks Perform examination pretesting Train patients how to use their contact lenses Answer phones and schedule exams Make referrals and coordinate with other provider offices Other duties as needed QUALIFICATIONS Strong computer skills and the ability to learn EMR system; Ability to multi-task with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail; Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Friendly, bright, and detail-oriented Strong technical ability PERFORMANCE FACTORS Attendance and dependability:
The employee can be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work.
Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious, about assignments.

Knowledge of optometric testing equipment and procedures:
The employee is able to operate testing equipment and obtain usable images or measurements for doctors to use for examinations.
REQUIREMENTS The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent; preference will be given to candidates with college degrees in a relevant field.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
