Platform/DevOps Administrator

Job Description:
  • Platform/DevOps Administrator to work in a dynamic environment primarily running on the Linux platform.
  • Candidate will be responsible for managing multiple Middleware applications including, but not limited to Apache, JBoss, Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle SOA, Oracle WebCenter, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Service Bus, and Drupal in an enterprise data center environment.
  • Duties will include 60% Middleware administration and 40% application support.


  • The Administrator will be responsible for installation and configuration of Middleware applications including, but not limited to Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle WebCenter, Oracle SOA, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Service Bus, Apache, and Drupal.
  • The Administrator will follow the guidelines from the administrators already onsite when applicable.
  • The Administrator will be responsible for maintaining existing and future Middleware applications. This includes applying patches to fix bugs, adding new functionality and features, and installing of maintenance releases.
  • Implement Automated Infrastructure and Platform Deployments
  • Develop automated processes and tools to build out infrastructure and complete platform installations through a CI/CD pipeline
  • Support of Application Deployments
  • The Administrator will be responsible for supporting development teams and carrying out code package deployments to the environment.
  • Participation in design and staff meetings
  • The Administrator will be required to attend in person regularly scheduled team and planning meetings. Participation is required only as it relates to the task the administrator is working with.
  • The Administrator will be required to create and maintain technical documentation for the support of the Middleware environments using tools such as Microsoft Office.
  • The Administrator will be responsible for testing and verification of all existing and future Middleware environments. The Administrator will also be required to participate in testing with other technical staff and users when the need arises.
  • Progress shall be tracked by the Administrator and Team Lead.
  • The Administrator shall be tasked with specific units of work in the form of sprints found in the Agile methodology.
  • The Administrator will have definitive tasks to record work against for completion within the sprint timeframe (every two weeks).
  • The Administrator will also determine their own work to perform in each sprint.
  • Utilize Service Desk Ticketing Systems.


  • Demonstrated success in advance troubleshooting skills in the application support area
  • Demonstrated success in Implementing and maintaining WebLogic and JBOSS application servers to include installing, configuring, and managing all aspects of the application server and all of its parameters
  • Work closely with project team members to understand program office requirements, review design documents, and provide release support and architecture planning
  • Use of Windows products: Microsoft Project, Visio, Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively with core project team members, team leads and client director-level resources.
  • Working knowledge of High Availability using industry standard methods including Load balancing
  • Working knowledge of LINUX and Windows
  • 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in Middleware products including but not limited to Oracle WebCenter, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle SOA, Oracle Service Bus, MuleSoft and Drupal
  • Experience in Agile based development environment using DevOps
  • Experience with DevOps and automation Tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ant, Nexus, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet)
  • Basic Database skills
  • Experience in scripting languages such as BASH, Python, WLST
  • Experience in SSL configuration for Middleware applications Basic knowledge of SOAP and RestFul Web Services

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
